Purpose:

This record series consists of incoming and outgoing communications between the Food Services Department, other university departments, and external individuals outside of the institution.  The files serve as reference material for general inquiry and future research.  In addition, the documents are referred to as "reading papers" and are filed separate from other correspondence. Contents of the record series include memos, announcements, letters, policies, and procedures.  The Food Services Department maintains both original and duplicate copies of the above files.
 

Procedure:

Retain in office for three (3) years, then dispose of provided all audits have been completed under the supervision of the Auditor General, if necessary, no litigation is pending or anticipated and provided all administrative value has expired.
